Once a space mine the natives of mekks spun wire like thread to make a contatnly revolving meckanised planet

Mekks is filled with all sorts gears and machenery, but they are all for one thing: Making a makeshift planet. Mekks isn't acually a planet, it was a mine but now the natives live on it peacefully. Life on Mekks was hard at first, the Mekkians had to spin wires to make the "planet" rotate. Now machines do all the work. Although Mekks is an official civilization the people are still in the process of making an extremely advanced sociaty. Their life style is partially primitive despite the fact that they are surrounded by machinery. They are trying to discover machines for making life easier instead of just making a planet. Mekkians are bioelectronic and have retractible arms.
